Grants of Friendship and other Invitations

Grant of Friendship – Aotearoa, New Zealand South

The Region of Aotearoa in New Zealand is offering a Grant of Friendship to a Soroptimist or two Soroptimists travelling together or a Soroptimist accompanied by her spouse of travelling companion.

Travel must be taken during March 2020 and a maximum of 21 days home hosting is offered. Return travel to New Zealand and travel between Clubs is at the applicant’s own expense. Extra travel to areas where there are no Clubs may be included but this is also at the applicant’s own expenses.

The closing date for applying is 30 September 2019. Full details are given in the PDF below:

 

Grant of Friendship – SI Yorkshire Region, SIGBI

Soroptimist International of Yorkshire Region of SIGBI (sigbi.org/Yorkshire) is offering a grant to two Soroptimists travelling independently or together, from outside the UK (including from SIGBI AACM Clubs).  We invite you to visit the beautiful and diverse region of Yorkshire in July 2020 to arrive the weekend of 3-5th July and leave 17-19th July.  The visit will be for a period of 2 weeks, and will be planned to allow our guests to attend the Regional President’s Summer Event.

The closing date for applications is 31 October 2019.

Then sign up and participate in the Exchange Program Open Heart – Open Door, an initiative of SI Europe.

This exchange program established in 1995 by Heidrun Konrad , president of SI of Europe 2003-2005 has proved to be successful. Today Soroptimists from all over the world are involved in this program.

Open Heart – Open Door (OHOD) programme offers five options:

  1. Home Hospitality: to one or two Soroptimists or a couple
  2. Contact Person: guide in one’s own town
  3. Exchange Visit: on a professional level
  4. Home-Exchange: You and your exchange partner will stay at each other’s homes for a certain period by mutual agreement
  5. Youth Exchange Programme for Young Relatives, e.g. daughter/son, niece/nephew, grandchild.
