FEDERATION PROJECT 2019-2022

Thank you to all the Clubs/Regions/NAs who submitted projects to be considered for the Federation Project 2019-2022.  Please look out for the A4 fact sheets from each of the four shortlisted projects which will be circulated in September, and ensure that your Club Voting Delegate has all the information she needs to carry out the vote at Conference, taking into account that there will also be short presentations from each finalist on the day. Please see Barbara Dixon’s letter below to see who the finalists are:

PROGRAMME ACTION CONSULTATION DOCUMENT

In April 2016 a discussion document was sent to all Clubs, National Associations and Countries regarding a possible restructuring of the current Programme Action Committees.  Club Feedback has been collated and the letter below gives details of the feedback and how this is being addressed, so that the system can be improved:

GUIDELINES FOR CARRYING OUT A LARGE PROJECT

Although Programme Action is the life blood of our organisation it may also at times be fraught with problems. Clubs have asked for a Guide to carrying out a large project which might include fund raising/building for a project which will be carried out in either another country or another part of your own country. Sue Biggs, Director of Programme, has written a letter to Clubs which includes guidelines to prevent Soroptimists from finding themselves in an awkward situation, but if Clubs/Regions/NAs already have their own guidelines they do not need to change their plans.  There is also a Memorandum of Understanding template that Clubs can use as an agreement between partners :

UN WOMEN APP FOR SMART PHONES

UN Women have produced a new app on Women’s Human Rights.  This could be a useful resource, making it easier to gain access to information you might require for documents, statements, presentations and speeches on women’s human rights and gender issues.  The app can be downloaded to your smart phone (Apple, Android or Blackberry) and/or your table by using the links below or you can search the app store for “Un Women”:
