Empowering Girls in Nepal
We regret to inform you that SIGBI Limited has terminated its partnership with ChoraChori UK (now Pipal Tree) to deliver the Empowering Girls in Nepal project.
The Letter of Agreement (LOA) between SIGBI Ltd and ChoraChori UK (now Pipal Tree) became frustrated by the fact that ChoraChori Nepal is no longer implementing the agreed project in Nepal. This makes the LOA null and void.
I would like to assure you that the Board has followed due process in coming to this decision, including contact with the Charity Commission. Discussions were also held with the Trustees of ChoraChori UK (now Pipal Tree) to ascertain whether there was a way forward. Sadly, I can confirm, that no relevant project was found to replace Empowering Girls in Nepal.
Ruth Healey, SIGBI Director of Finance, will be contacting those Clubs whose donations are currently held within a SIGBI suspense account. No further donations should be submitted to SIGBI Ltd for the Empowering Girls in Nepal project.
Johanna M Raffan MBE
SIGBI President 2020-2021
