Purpose of Regions/NAs/Networks

The purpose of Regions/National Associations and Networks was updated at the SIGBI General Meeting in November 2013.

Regions and National Associations

The purposes for which a Region/NA is established, through its Region/NA Council, to undertake the following functions in its area:

  • promote the Mission and Vision of Soroptimist International (SI), through the Regional media and by forming links with appropriate governmental and non-governmental organisations
  • demonstrate and support the adoption of best practice
  • co-ordinate Programme Action (PA), in the context of Federation recommendations and promote joint working between Clubs to maximise impact
  • support and, where appropriate, lead the implementation of Federation initiatives
  • provide development and training opportunities
  • support the recruitment and retention of members, in existing Clubs and the formation of new Clubs
  • work to ensure effective, two-way communication between Federation, Federation staff, Clubs     and members on all policies, procedures and guidance to facilitate good understanding and  practice
  • fulfil a mediation function for members and Clubs
