Maasai Hits the Region for a FULL HOUSE !!

SOLD OUT !!   Maasai Hits the Region for a Full House

Coming to Birmingham is the film Wicket Warriors, not on general release, but a film supported by the charity Cricket Without Boundaries. It tells the story of the young men of a Kenyan tribe from Maasai Mara who get involved in cricket matches that bring them to play at Lords. This elevates their status with the elders of their tribe when they return home, to the extent that they persuade the elders to ban Female Genital Mutilation (FGM).

FGM is included in Soroptimist International’s fight on Violence Against Women (VAW). Soroptimists’ have a goal to eliminate violence against women and girls which matches the United Nations goals.

The film is being shown by Soroptimist International Midland Arden Region (SIMAR) at the Electric Cinema in Birmingham on Friday 19th February to a full house. Regional President Su Roxburgh is thrilled with the response from around the region and says this is an opportunity for everyone involved to gain further knowledge about this success story.
