Then come and join us?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>If you are interested in:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Looking for a club that supports and acts locally and globally?<\/li>\n<li>Wanting to meet women from different walks of life?<\/li>\n<li>Finding out more about human rights issues affecting women and girls?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Then Soroptimist International could be for you.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Welcome to Soroptimist International Milton Keynes,<\/strong> a friendly, diverse and welcoming group of 18 women from all walks of life in and around Milton Keynes, united by a single, powerful belief:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>that every woman and girl deserves the chance to thrive.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As part of a global volunteering movement with a voice at the United Nations, we work together to improve the lives of women and girls through <strong>Awareness, Advocacy and Action<\/strong>.\u00a0 From supporting local charities to raising awareness of issues affecting women worldwide, we turn our shared passion into practical action that makes a difference.\u00a0 We stand side-by-side to protect, educate, and empower women in our local community and globally.<\/p>\n<p><strong>By joining us, you can help create positive change, develop new skills, share ideas and build lasting friendships along the way.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/milton-keynes\/about-our-club\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"button\"><strong>Click here to learn more about Soroptimists and our club\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Why Join Us?<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Your Time, Your Talents, your chance to make a difference<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our members bring different skills, experiences and ideas, but we share a common purpose: making life better for women and girls.<\/p>\n<p>Through our projects and partnerships; we:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Offer hope and support by working with MK Act, <\/strong>helping women and families affected by domestic abuse through initiatives such as providing clothing, essential toiletries and fundraising.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Help women move forward by supporting initiatives <\/strong>that build confidence, develop skills and help women take steps towards employment.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Raise awareness and challenge attitudes through our Orange-Cafes, <\/strong>community events and campaigns to help end violence against women and girls.\u00a0 We stand loud and clear against gender-based violence.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Support young women through partnerships<\/strong> with local organisations, including YMCA Milton Keynes, helping young people to rebuild their lives.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Make a difference together, <\/strong>by supporting local charities, fundraising for worthwhile causes and working with community partners to create positive change.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Every contribution matters.\u00a0 Whether you enjoy organising events, fundraising, sharing ideas, meeting people or helping behind the scenes there is a place for you.<\/p>\n<h4>More than volunteering &#8211; friendship with purpose<\/h4>\n<p>Being a Soroptimist is about more than the projects we support. It is also about friendship, encouragement, learning and belonging to a group of women who want to make a difference.<\/p>\n<p>Our members are from many walks of life and at different stages of their lives.\u00a0 You don&#8217;t need special qualifications or previous experience &#8211; just an interest in helping others and a willingness to get involved.<\/p>\n<p>We recognise\u00a0that everyone has different commitments, and we value the time and talents each person can offer.
