What a fabulous Music event we had on December the 14th at the Mead Center, Newport Pagnell with the wonderful Musica Charity Choir MK.<\/p>\n

This was our 4th<\/sup> Annual Music event.\u00a0 We held our first in Bletchley in 2021 when one of our members Karen Mason with her string quartet Melomane (which means Music lover), made up of\u00a0 Caroline Cartwright, Kate Knight, Claire Vogeli and Bridget Wilson performed a wonderful concert of light and classical music and taught us a bit about their instruments.\u00a0 The concert raised \u00a3450 which we donated to the Welfare Team at UnityMK for their homeless residents.<\/p>\n

They played for us again in 2022 and raised \u00a3600.\u00a0 The money was split between the Ukraine Appeal charity here in MK for those mothers and children who had just arrived.\u00a0 And the other half went to our sister club in Krakow who were taking in mothers and children arriving there from the Ukraine.<\/p>\n

For 2023, the Hearts and Music singers, a choir who like to perform to raise money for local MK charities came to sing for us and by the end of the evening we had raised \u00a3700, split and donated to all the 5 charities we support, who are MK Act (Women’s Refuge), UnityMK, Works For Us, Ukraine Appeal and YMCA MK.<\/p>\n

This year for the first time we held our concert in December and Musica Chairty Choir MK, a chamber choir that performe in and around Milton Keynes to raise money for local charities put on a wonderful festive seasonal concert.\u00a0 The programme of songs included Silent night sung in german, I\u2019ll be home for Christmas, In the bleak midwinter to Let there be Christmas.\u00a0 At one point the lights were turned off and it was wonderful to hear the choir singing in the dark.\u00a0 \u00a0A big thank you to everyone who came and thank you Musica Charity Choir MK, for a fantastic evening and we raised on the night \u00a3996.50.\u00a0 Our best effort yet.<\/p>\n
