It is with sadness that we report the death of Miss Edyth Cunningham, Honorary Member of SI Morecambe and Heysham. Edyth was a much-loved and respected member of the Club for 64 years, during which time she held several offices and was President in 1956 to 1957. Edyth was consistently loyal to and supportive of the Club and its members, enjoying contributing to the business and social life of the Club and the friendships which she made. She is greatly missed.

Recent Events In 2010 the members of SI Morecambe and Heysham celebrated our 70th year as a club by hosting Afternoon Tea at the newly refurbished Midland Hotel for over 120 Soroptimists and guests. In the 70th year we planted a commemorative tree in Happy Mount Park and raised £1,000 for the Morecambe and Heysham branch of the RNLI as pictured above. We recently joined SI Lancaster at their Friendship Evening where the Wordspinners entertained Soroptimists and guests from the Region. Forthcoming Events Our two main events for early 2011 will be our club’s Friendship Evening in January with a well-known local guest speaker and in February we will be holding our main fund-rasing event of the year – a coffee morning at Gaskell Hall, Silverdale, with the procedes going to the President’s chosen charity, Global Link.
