At the AGM in April 2013 incoming President Therese Gill said that she is looking forward to her year in office and gave members information on her chosen charity for the year 2013-14.
This is the registered charity, the Khiraule Education and Health Project (KEHP) which was formed in May 2011. KEHP provides funding for the students, teachers and classrooms for Khiraule village in Nepal, working directly with the villagers.
The charity is also hoping to fund the training of a local midwife.
The Rotary Club of Kendal are also supporting the Khiraule Education and Health Project and have a very informative page on their website about the project. Many thanks to the Club’s website administrator for permission to have this link to their webpage http://www.kendalrotaryclub.org/index.php/khiraule-project-blog.
The website for the Khiraule Education and Health Project is www.khiraule.org.uk.
