We work locally and globally to improve the lives of women and children.<\/h3>\n

We provide financial support for charities through fundraising at our social events.<\/p>\n

Members are also encouraged and supported to have a personal involvement in local charities.<\/p>\n

Our Presidents Charity for 2023-2025 is<\/strong>:<\/h4>\n
    \n
  • \u201cSave the Family<\/strong>\u201d, a Chester based charity. Save the Family offers temporary housing and round-the-clock support to homeless and at-risk families. Their rural site provides tailored assistance from a trauma-informed team, empowering families to overcome challenges and build a brighter future.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Every year SI Nantwich participates along with other Soroptimist groups around the World in the Orange Campaign of the United Nations – to prevent Violence against Women.<\/h4>\n

    This year 2024 we have been co-operating with a local women\u2019s group HerSpace<\/strong> to hold an Orange Caf\u00e9 on 30th<\/sup> November 2024 at Nantwich Bookshop 10:30 to 15:30<\/p>\n

      \n
    • \u201cThe Orange Caf\u00e9<\/strong>\u201d part of a United Nations campaign to help end violence against women. Our aim is to mobilise people and highlight issues relevant to preventing and ending violence against women and girls.<\/li>\n
    • \u201cHerSpace Nantwich<\/strong>\u201d to help make women feel connected in the community and provide some much-needed\u00a0Space\u00a0to focus on themselves and their happiness with the aim of making new friends and trying out new things.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

       <\/p>\n

      Other Local Charities and Organisations which we support include:<\/p>\n

        \n
      • \u201cMy CWA<\/strong>\u201d formerly known as Cheshire Without Abuse. A Cheshire-based charity supporting individuals and families affected by domestic abuse. Support includes a helpline, crisis accommodation and recovery programmes, practical support and behaviour change programmes; a whole family service designed to help everyone impacted by domestic abuse.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

         <\/p>\n

          \n
        • \u201cChance<\/strong>\u201d a charity powered by volunteers, battling homelessness and poverty, with hope, help and a hot meal. Aim is to Change lives, one difficult step at a time, to give disadvantaged people a fighting chance.\u200b Chance started in 2017 as a small project to help people experiencing homelessness in Crewe, has become a registered charity that provides practical support at our community pantry and kitchen, a place of contact for endless advice and hope.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          • \u201cMotherwell Cheshire<\/strong>\u201d a charity dedicated to helping women and girls become role models and future leaders. By creating a community of women, run by women for women, Motherwell is embedded in their community and can adapt to the needs of the women and girls they support. Motherwell is committed to bridging the gap in services for women and girls. Their team of specialists, trustees, staff, and volunteers are united in their mission to provide support, education, and advocacy to women and girls of all ages in Cheshire and beyond. Through courses, group work, and counselling, Motherwell helps women improve their self-advocacy skills, mental health and wellbeing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

             <\/p>\n

            • \u201cThe Thursday Club<\/strong>\u201d at St Mary\u2019s Church Hall Nantwich which provides a weekly club for people living with dementia, their carers and family members.\u00a0The Thursday Club provides a weekly programme of activities which include Musical Moments, Stand Strong, Police Advice, Health and Wellbeing support.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

               <\/p>\n

              • \u201cNantwich and Crewe Food Banks<\/strong>\u201d Part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                • \u201cCrewe Samaritans<\/strong>\u201d Part of the Samaritans with the purpose to be there for people who are struggling to cope and in times of crisis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                   <\/p>\n

                  • \u201cLend with Care<\/strong>\u201d an initiative of poverty fighting charity, CARE International UK which currently operates in eleven countries. Lend with care is a revolutionary way to help people in low-income countries to work their way out of poverty with dignity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                    • \u201cYMCA Cheshire<\/strong>\u201d a not-for-profit organisation. YMCA Cheshire prevents homelessness by responding to local need by investing in the lives of young people and the community through projects including family support and working with children.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
