This date has been chosen because it is the Saturday nearest the 25<sup>th<\/sup> November which is International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;5248&#8243; img_size=&#8221;400&#215;300&#8243;][vc_column_text]The Orange Caf\u00e9 is part of a United Nations campaign to help end violence against women. Our aim is to mobilise people and highlight issues relevant to preventing and ending violence against women and girls.<\/p>\n<p>The colour orange has been chosen by the United Nations because it is a bright optimistic colour and has come to represent a future free from violence against women.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=&#8221;5172&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; add_caption=&#8221;yes&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221;][vc_column_text]We are delighted that the Mayor of Crewe Councillor Dawn Clark and the Mayor of Nantwich Councillor Stuart Bostock with Nantwich Town Crier Devlin Hobson attended in support of the event.<\/p>\n<p>Members of SI Nantwich and HerSpace actively highlighted awareness of the issues surrounding violence against women at Nantwich Bookshop, engaging with people and distributing leaflets showing where help can be found for victims of violence.<\/p>\n<p>We also welcomed SI Northwich members Louise Parry and Penny Clarke who joined us and actively engaged with the public.<\/p>\n<p>My CWA a Cheshire-based charity supporting individuals and families affected by domestic abuse provided banners and literature for the event.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_images_carousel images=&#8221;5173,5174,5175,5177,5181,5182,5183,5185,5184,5187,5221,5179,5180&#8243; img_size=&#8221;400&#215;350&#8243; autoplay=&#8221;yes&#8221; hide_pagination_control=&#8221;yes&#8221; hide_prev_next_buttons=&#8221;yes&#8221; wrap=&#8221;yes&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]To highlight the event Nantwich Town Hall projected an Orange Display.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=&#8221;5227&#8243; img_size=&#8221;400&#215;400&#8243;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]and also St Mary&#8217;s Church Nantwich lit in an Orange glow.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=&#8221;5226&#8243; img_size=&#8221;450&#215;600&#8243;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Nantwich and District Soroptimists (SI Nantwich) and HerSpace hosted an Orange Caf\u00e9 event at Nantwich&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":888,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1,3],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-5162","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized","category-club-news"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.4 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Orange Caf\u00e9 at Nantwich Bookshop | News | Blog | Events | SI Nantwich and District<\/title>\n<meta name=\"description\" content=\"SI Nantwich and District : Blog &amp; News : Orange Caf\u00e9 at Nantwich Bookshop : Keep up to date with the latest news, articles and events from the Soroptimists of SI Nantwich and District .
