A staggering amount of money for a charity with no guaranteed government funding. Every year, Ty Hafan need to raise \u00a34 million pounds to provide its free services to families in Wales.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Her talk was extremely poignant and it brought a lump to everyone&#8217;s throat.\u00a0 Her stories highlighted the importance of funding for the charity and most importantly served as a reminder of the invaluable work they do to assist children and families through some of the darkest times.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"\/neath\/files\/2017\/05\/Rebecca-Chick-of-Ty-Hafan-with-Lynda-Williams.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-786\" src=\"\/neath\/files\/2017\/05\/Rebecca-Chick-of-Ty-Hafan-with-Lynda-Williams-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"Rebecca Chick of Ty Hafan with Lynda Williams\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/neath\/files\/2017\/05\/Rebecca-Chick-of-Ty-Hafan-with-Lynda-Williams-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/neath\/files\/2017\/05\/Rebecca-Chick-of-Ty-Hafan-with-Lynda-Williams-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/neath\/files\/2017\/05\/Rebecca-Chick-of-Ty-Hafan-with-Lynda-Williams.jpg 638w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Their\u00a0vision<\/span><\/h3>\n<h5>\u201cTo see a Wales where children who are expected to die in childhood live a full family life.\u201d<\/h5>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Their\u00a0mission<\/span><\/h3>\n<h5>\u201cTo offer a high standard of free care and support to the families of children in Wales who are expected to die in childhood.\u201d<\/h5>\n<h6><\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: center\">T\u0177 Hafan is one of the UK\u2019s leading paediatric palliative care charities and offers care to children and support for their families, throughout Wales.<\/h6>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>They\u00a0have supported nearly 600 children since\u00a0they opened in 1999.<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">If you think that means they simply provide a place where children can come to die, you couldn\u2019t be further from the truth. Ty Hafan offer comfort, care and support to life-limited children, young people and their families in the hospice, in the community and in their home so they can make the most of the time they have left together.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">They\u00a0allow parents and carers to relax and recharge their batteries.
