One of the decisions to be made was quite a fun one. It was which charities to support with the \u00a31,224.96 in the Programme Action Fund. A whopping \u00a3345 was added to it on Saturday, February 17th, when our Club Secretary hosted a coffee morning and lunch event.<\/p>\n<p>The delicious food and fun activities were greatly enjoyed by the attendees. There was also a large collection of clothing, shoes and mobile phones for the Great North Air Ambulance and this will all be collected next Wednesday by their van. In addition, we must thank Janet Heal (Past member and our 70th President) for her very generous donation of 10 SUITCASES full of coats and jackets which are also going to the GNAA. <a href=\"\/newcastle-upon-tyne\/files\/2018\/02\/feb24th3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-640 size-medium\" src=\"\/newcastle-upon-tyne\/files\/2018\/02\/feb24th3-300x120.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"120\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/newcastle-upon-tyne\/files\/2018\/02\/feb24th3-300x120.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/newcastle-upon-tyne\/files\/2018\/02\/feb24th3.jpg 355w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/newcastle-upon-tyne\/files\/2018\/02\/feb24th1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-638 size-full\" src=\"\/newcastle-upon-tyne\/files\/2018\/02\/feb24th1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"284\" height=\"178\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We discussed possible alternative venues for our future club meetings if the City of Newcastle Golf Club is not available when it is refurbished. No location has so far proved suitable and we are still actively looking.<br \/>\nCharities we have agreed to support are <strong>the education of a girl in Nepal, the Rape Crisis Centre, Sanitary products for the West End Food Bank and the Meru Garden Project.<\/strong><br \/>\nWe also discussed the possibility of a Charter Event on Saturday November 10th at the Tyneside Cinema.
