Pendleside Friendship Evening – Monday 14 March 2016<\/p>\n
Soroptimists from many local clubs were keen to learn from Jackie Iddon, a well-known local gardener and flower arranger, how best to arrange flowers.\u00a0 We all agreed she made it look so simple and she even talked about herself and her family whilst she did it.\u00a0 But as much as we all promised to try, I can\u2019t see many of us attaining her standard.<\/p>\n
We saw arrangements in pots, arrangements in jugs, all done with a few spring flowers and foliage from her garden. They were delightful and I am sure many of us will try our hand at some of the arrangements.<\/p>\n
The potato pie followed by the delicious strawberry pavlova kept everyone quiet for a while, but the main excitement of the evening was the raffle for all the arrangements Jackie had made that evening.\u00a0 Many members went home clutching an arrangement and all agreed it had been an excellent evening.<\/p>\n
