SIGBI Belfast Conference<\/h1>\n

Soroptimists from across the region (and indeed, from across the world) gathered in Belfast last month for the 88th annual Federation Conference – theme “Climate for Change”<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A chance to listen to inspiring speakers – Rebecca Cecil-Wright (EnviroFest International), Leigh Ellwood-Brown (Soroptimist International South East Asia Pacific), Elizabeth Gowing (The Ideas Partnership), Gemma Milne (author of \u2018Smoke & Mirrors: How Hype Obscures the Future and How to See Past It\u2019), Tara Shine (Change by Degrees), Robyn Knox (British Red Cross) – and hear first hand some of the work which has been done or is planned for our Federation.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_images_carousel images=”5208,5209,5210,5204,5217″ img_size=”large” autoplay=”yes” wrap=”yes”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]It’s also a great opportunity to renew old friendships and make new ones, and to see some scenery![\/vc_column_text][vc_images_carousel images=”5215,5214,5216,5213,5212,5211″ img_size=”large” autoplay=”yes”][vc_column_text]The 2022 Conference also held a bonus for one of the clubs in our region – congratulations to Grange-over-Sands on being awarded the “Best Practice Award (Prosperity)” for their work on a Fair Trade Walk for chocolate making workshops for girls in Ghana.
