I HOPE<\/span><\/p>\n

I hope I\u2019m not a disappointment for not being born a boy<\/span><\/p>\n

I only want to bring my parents happiness and joy<\/span><\/p>\n

As a girl I will strive to do things to perfection<\/span><\/p>\n

I don\u2019t deserve to be treated without love and affection<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I hope I\u2019m not sold as a child sex slave<\/span><\/p>\n

As this will surely take me to an early grave<\/span><\/p>\n

I want to play with friends and have some fun<\/span><\/p>\n

To run free on the beach and dance in the sun.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I hope I don\u2019t get forced to marry a stranger<\/span><\/p>\n

I want to fall in love and feel free from danger<\/span><\/p>\n

I don\u2019t want to live so far far away<\/span><\/p>\n

I have family and friends with whom I want to stay.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I hope I don\u2019t have to walk miles to fetch water that\u2019s unclean<\/span><\/p>\n

But to have water near home that is clear and clean<\/span><\/p>\n

I want to be healthy and free from risk<\/span><\/p>\n

It would be a wonderful feeling not to feel sick<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I hope tonight my husband doesn\u2019t beat me<\/span><\/p>\n

Just because I haven\u2019t made his dinner or tea<\/span><\/p>\n

I want to be an equal in our relationship<\/span><\/p>\n

To be treated with respect, love and friendship<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I hope I can be educated and each day go to school<\/span><\/p>\n

That would be fantastic for me I\u2019d follow every rule<\/span><\/p>\n

I could make a difference for my family and community<\/span><\/p>\n

I might even change the world and bring equal opportunity<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I hope you are all now seeing<\/span><\/p>\n

That what I am is a human being<\/span><\/p>\n

I have no choice in deciding my sex<\/span><\/p>\n
