Conferences

Soroptimist International Great Britain and Ireland (SIGBI) hold an annual conference, which is attended by approximately 1,200 members plus their guests, from each of the 29 countries in the Federation.

It’s a time to meet friends old and new, and to listen to inspiring speakers.  Reports from each Conference are added to the Conference website as soon as possible after the event.  You can read reports from the last Conferences or see what is coming up at the next Conference by visiting the main SIGBI site.

The Liverpool 2018 conference was a great success.  This was the 84th Federation Conference. There was a good attendance from the Club. Some members went to all three days. President Elect Louise volunteered to carry the flag at the Opening  ceremony for Uganda as, sadly no member fromUganda could attend.  All the speakers were superb and included Terry Waite and  Ralph Fiennes; Ellie Bird, a former officer from the West Midlands Police, now living in Kenya was inspirational in her work with teenage girls. So many clubs will be supporting her work by collecting girl-bags containing sewing equipment to further Empower Today & Enable Tomorrow.
