Later I was appointed Consultant Paediatrician in Community Child Healthcare for the Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Trust, with a special interest in children with disabilities, and child protection<\/p>\n<p>I moved to Northwich in 2003 prior to retirement, to be closer to my daughter, son and four grandchildren. \u00a0In 2010 I became a Soroptimist. My other activities include playing golf, dog walking, singing and acting as a steward at Davenham Methodist Church.<\/p>\n<p>During my Presidential year, I intend to promote the aims of Soroptimism, and to continue to raise money for both local charities and Soroptimist projects overseas. My chosen charity is the Joshua Tree, a local charity which aims to support families who have a child with cancer, and help them cope with this life changing experience by providing accommodation in peaceful surroundings.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=&#8221;595&#8243;
