SI  Pendleside 70th Charter Anniversary Celebration

Held on Friday 07th June 2019

at The Higher Trapp Country House Hotel, Simonstone.

President (2019 – 2020)  Maureen Howarth of SI Pendleside (Immediate Past Regional President), together with Regional President Alison Driver,  Immediate Past President Barbara Shaw and Secretary Irene Hargreaves, unveiled the new Pendleside Soroptimist Plaque, a very significant moment in the history of SI Pendleside.

President Maureen gave the opening speech and welcomed all  members and guests to SI Pendleside 70th Charter Anniversary Celebration.

The Soroptimist Vision and Mission was read by Mrs Val Thomas President Elect, followed by Grace given by Rev. Pam Nicholson and the Toastmaster for the evening was Mrs Janet Cookson.

 

A very formal setting out and arrangement of the dinner tables was a beautiful sight to see with the Soroptimist colours of blue and yellow carried through on the menu and the theme also included the ribbons around everyone’s table gift.

A very enjoyable Celebration Dinner with delicious desserts to follow.

During the dinner The Loyal Toast was given by President Maureen and the cutting of the celebration cake was expertly carried out by Mrs Barbara Clegg who was delighted to have been given the honour.

The three gentlemen of The Flat Cap Pack entertained everyone when they sang their different and amusing renditions of both famous and local songs.

 

 

 

Mrs Susan Biggs – Immediate Past Federation President and Honorary Member Region of North West England and Isle of Man proposed the Toast to SI Pendleside and Soroptimist International.

President Maureen gave the Farewell Toast at the end of what was a very enjoyable SI Pendleside 70th Charter Anniversary Celebration, and a very successful evening drew to a close,
