SI Peterborough is a women\u2019s club in the city that \u2013 through advocacy and fundraising \u2013 supports charities and projects that help women locally, nationally and internationally.<\/p>\n

If you follow us on social media, you may have some idea of what<\/em> we do at SI Peterborough. But, do you know who<\/em> is behind it?<\/p>\n

We are a diverse mix of women from Peterborough with one common aim – to make a difference to the lives of women and girls around the world.<\/p>\n

Moira\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

I have been married to Adam for 57 years and we have three children. I worked in the NHS for 43 years,\u00a0specialising\u00a0in cancer services and received the OBE for my work.<\/span><\/p>\n

I have been a Soroptimist for over 30 years, and I was Midland East Regional benevolent officer for seven years, which I enjoyed. Through Soroptimist International, I have made many friends and acquaintances. In my spare time, I enjoy cake decorating, knitting, flower arranging plus dining out with friends.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m 30 years old and born in Peterborough. I’m a social worker, working with children and families. In my spare time, I enjoy travelling, running, volunteering, and spending time with family and friends.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>I\u2019m SI Peterborough\u2019s newest member and enjoying being part of the club so far.<\/p>\n

I have been a member of SI Peterborough for over 30 years and have been President, Minute Secretary, Regional Representative, Programme\u00a0Action Officer\u00a0and\u00a0Treasurer. <\/span><\/p>\n

I am a retired community midwife and since retiring have become more involved in my church. I enjoy walking,\u00a0baking,<\/span>\u00a0knitting and cross stitch.\u00a0<\/span>Soroptomistism<\/span> gives us the opportunity to help women and girls who are not as fortunate as us while having fun in the <\/span>process!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I joined SI Peterborough in 2017 and really enjoy being part of a group of lovely women who are passionate about empowering women and girls. I am Club President and look forward to focusing on sustainability and the environment throughout my presidency.<\/p>\n

I am a self-employed copywriter, writing content for a variety of businesses. When I\u2019m not working, you\u2019ll find me reading, baking or napping!<\/p>\n

I have been a Soroptimist for four years and have recently stepped down as the youngest ever president of SI Peterborough. I am a mother to one-year-old Billy and I work as a pharmacy technician for the NHS.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I joined Soroptimist International in 1988 when I was living in St\u00a0Andrews, Scotland. I transferred to the Peterborough club in 2004 when I moved to\u00a0Spalding. <\/span><\/p>\n

I have been married to Bryan since 1966 and have a daughter and two\u00a0grandkids. I<\/span>\u00a0spent most of my working life connected to catering, eventually ending up with my own business selling tea and coffee both retail and catering.<\/span>\u00a0I have enjoyed travelling around the world since retiring and when fit and able still do.<\/p>\n

My Soroptimist membership has brought me many hours of enjoyment and many friends around the\u00a0world. I<\/span>\u00a0have had the pleasure and\u00a0<\/span>honour<\/span>\u00a0to be Club President twice and Regional President for Midland East.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It must be over 15 years I\u2019ve been a member of SI Peterborough having been introduced by a friend.<\/span><\/p>\n

I am a mother to Daniel and grandmother to Charlie who lets me watch him play football sometimes as long as I don\u2019t embarrass him by shouting too loud!<\/span><\/p>\n

When I\u2019m not working, travelling or\u00a0volunteering\u00a0I enjoy comping. My best prize has been a holiday to Barbados. My latest one is a Witches Spell-A-Day\u00a0Almanac.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I have two daughters and two grandsons – all now adults. A secretary by profession, I worked for 21 years for Christie’s – the international fine art auctioneers – who had an office in Peterborough, administering and running the office. From this, I became interested in art and antiques.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

I have been a Soroptimist for 27 years. For most of those years, I have been Club Secretary and I have also been Club President twice. I\u2019ve made many friends through Soroptimists and also visited some interesting places, including Canada and Barbados.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Over the 10 years I’ve been with SI Peterborough, I’ve had the opportunity to be President, Membership Officer and Programme Action Officer. SI Peterborough offers fun and friendship while making a difference to women and girls locally and internationally.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I am a pharmacist. In my spare time, I enjoy travelling and going out to pubs with friends and family (pre-Covid!). <\/span><\/p>\n

I’ve worked in community pharmacy for just over 20 years and for the last two years have been in a role that involves working will all of the pharmacies across\u00a0Cambridgeshire\u00a0and Peterborough. <\/span><\/p>\n

I’ve been a Soroptimist for around 18 months and have really enjoyed the opportunity to find out more about the projects that support women and girls, both in our area and further afield. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, listening to any music I can sing along to and supporting my local ice hockey team.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
