Here are the different formats for the coming year’s meetings:
Roundtables: Format is to have a speaker discuss a topic then have a round table regarding a related topic that is pertinent to our local community, maybe a ‘hot’ news topic, maybe a little contention. That will generate comment usable for communications purposes and opinions that can feed directly into a current or potential SI Poole campaign area. The debate is often followed by implementation of qualitative research.
19.30 – 19.45 Guest introductions and scene setting
19.45 – 20.15 Speaker slot
20.15 – 21.15 *Roundtable debate
21.15 – 21.30 Close
*The opinion/findings from the debate will be written up and distributed via email after the event.
Club development: This is where we bring forth activities and opportunities which we as a club can develop. These could include, for example, a training session regarding how to use twitter to a talk about recruitment and retention. We follow the speaker/training session with debate or workshop activities.
19.30 – 19.45 Guest introductions and scene setting
19.45 – 20.15 Trainer/speaker slot
20.15 – 20.45 Break out sessions and discussion regarding topic
20.45 – 21.00 Review of what we’ve learned and suggestions
21.00 – 21.30 AOB and close
SI business: We mix fun and frivolity with the serious business of our campaign area updates. This is an every quarter review of where we are with our projects and where we want to take them. We voice our objectives for the next quarter and any concerns, asking for help if needed. The speaker on these nights is a purely fun/interest only speaker.
