It is the reason why many of us are members and it is the linchpin of our organisation and what makes us different from other organisations.We act locally but think globally. \u00a0Through awareness, advocacy and action, Soroptimists work in the following areas:<\/p>\n

We run a Drop In Cafe at Kingsfold Library in Penwortham for anyone who feels isolated or needs a bit of company and a chat.\u00a0 There’s cake too!<\/div>\n

We provide giftbags for the homeless at Christmas via the Salvation Army and children staying at the local domestic violence refuge.<\/p>\n

We have lobbied local MPs and County Councillors over funding for Domestic Violence refuges, Landmines, Human Trafficking and blister pack recycling.<\/p>\n

We hold \u00a31 preloved clothes sales 3 times a year.\u00a0 They are busy with people gathering some sensational bargains and we are also saving lots of clothes from ending up in landfill.<\/p>\n

We collect things for recycling – blister packs, spectacles, postcards, postage stamps, bras…………<\/p>\n
