They sponsored a Teacher\u2019s salary for some years at a Balwadi (play school) run by the NGO Jagruti which is a partner organization. In 1997 one of our members, also the then Programme Action Chairperson for the Indian Clubs was invited as a guest to Kings Lynn after the Brighton Conference.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner content_placement=&#8221;middle&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1705730477422{padding-top: 15px !important;padding-bottom: 15px !important;}&#8221;][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;4532&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]SI Perth, Scotland, UK <span style=\"color: #000\">took on the Medical Project at Tulapur. Some of our members visited Perth after the Manchester Conference in 2010 and were given warm Hospitality by SI Perth members. SI Perth members regularly visit SI Poona and take an active interest in our activities.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner content_placement=&#8221;middle&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1705730482397{padding-top: 15px !important;padding-bottom: 15px !important;}&#8221;][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]SI Enniskillen, Northern Ireland, <span style=\"color: #000\">is another Friendship link club of SI Poona. Some of their members visited Poona and our members met them over dinner and had an excellent exchange and interaction with them.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;324&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1705730425118{padding-top: 15px !important;padding-bottom: 15px !important;}&#8221;][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]SI Barnstaple and District <span style=\"color: #000\">is our latest Friendship link. We had a link with the comparatively smaller club, SI Taw and Torridge, which had to be closed down and later merged with SI Barnstaple and district. Some members from the earlier club shifted to this club and requested SI Poona for a Friendship Link.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner content_placement=&#8221;middle&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1705730488807{padding-top: 15px !important;padding-bottom: 15px !important;}&#8221;][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;338&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]SI Freudenstadt, Germany <span style=\"color: #000\">joined us as a Link Club in 2006. They adopted the Sangise School as their Asia Project. Several of their members have visited SI Poona on various occasions. Our members were invited to Freudenstadt for their charter in June 2007. Some of our members were their guests for a week and were given a tour of the Black Forest Area, the Rhine Valley in the Alsace Lorraine and Stuttgart. It was a fantastic experience.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner content_placement=&#8221;middle&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1705730493734{padding-top: 15px !important;padding-bottom: 15px !important;}&#8221;][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]SI Klosterneuburg, Austria <span style=\"color: #000\">joined us as a linK club in December 2012. One of their members visited us and stayed with us for over two weeks when the link was forged.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;49&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner content_placement=&#8221;middle&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1705730488807{padding-top: 15px !important;padding-bottom: 15px !important;}&#8221;][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;5090&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text] <span style=\"color: #000\">In August 2024,<\/span> our Friendship link representative Usha Rathore met with Alex, the President of the SI club of Barnstaple and district in U.K.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000\">Usha and Alex had decided to meet at the caf\u00e9 at the Barnstaple Railway station. They were also accompanied by two more members Susie and Jenny. They had a fruitful discussion and discussed the programs run by their club. They also gave Usha a brochure of their club programs.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner content_placement=&#8221;middle&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1705730493734{padding-top: 15px !important;padding-bottom: 15px !important;}&#8221;][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<span style=\"color: #000\">In November 2024,<\/span> Dr. Dorothee Schmalz and Stephanie Hentschel from SI Freudenstadt, <span style=\"color: #000\">were in Pune and met up with SI Pune members for lunch at the Turf Club on the 29th. Along with a discussion of our projects, there was an interchange of views and ideas. Our president Rashida offered to take them to a cultural exhibition named Dastakri Haat, in which artists from all over India were showcasing their work, which the visitors found very fascinating.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_media_grid element_width=&#8221;6&#8243; gap=&#8221;3&#8243; grid_id=&#8221;vc_gid:1735194288709-e14508b3-d8ae-1&#8243; include=&#8221;5085,5084,5083,5082&#8243;][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1705730425118{padding-top: 15px !important;padding-bottom: 15px !important;}&#8221;][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]<span style=\"color: #000\">On the following day, 30th November, it was decided to visit Zapurza, a cultural museum as well as a picnic spot on the outskirts of Pune. Accompanied by a few of our members, they first visited the museum and were very fascinated with the exhibits which included local artist paintings and handloom weaves, followed by a typical Maharashtrian lunch. Our guests enjoyed both the days of their visit and were glad the trip was not hectic, but relaxing and refreshing. They thanked the SI Pune members for the hospitality, and specifically mentioned that both the days were different and unique in their own
