A young couple Mr. Kanad Joag and his partner Ms. Pauline Charriot, were invited, as our special guests for the occasion. The couple is involved in V.C.D.M. or Village Community Development Movement, in the village of Pabal, about 50 kms. from Pune. They are deeply committed to VCDM, which is a farmers\u2019 movement, working for forty years for holistic rural development of this area. The centre is a support house for girls in the age group of five to sixteen years, coming from challenged backgrounds, and besides giving them basic necessities, they are also sent to school. The girls are also taught several other activities like farming, household chores, and various crafts made from natural fibres and materials, which are also sold and well appreciated. SI Poona members expressed their interest in the Educational adoption of a few girls, and see them complete their school as well as college education under their existing education sponsorship project \u2018 Let me Bloom\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-4483\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/pune\/files\/2020\/05\/Womens-Day-2020-1-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/pune\/files\/2020\/05\/Womens-Day-2020-1-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/pune\/files\/2020\/05\/Womens-Day-2020-1.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The guests were then felicitated by president Kulsum\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-4485\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/pune\/files\/2020\/05\/Womens-Day-2020-6-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/pune\/files\/2020\/05\/Womens-Day-2020-6-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/pune\/files\/2020\/05\/Womens-Day-2020-6.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>with small tokens on behalf of the \u00a0club. Pauline was given<\/p>\n<p>an International Women\u2019s Day certificate with the SI Poona<\/p>\n<p>logo.
