{"id":5094,"date":"2024-12-27T07:44:49","date_gmt":"2024-12-27T06:44:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/pune\/?p=5094"},"modified":"2024-12-27T07:58:32","modified_gmt":"2024-12-27T06:58:32","slug":"16-days-of-activism-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/pune\/2024\/12\/27\/16-days-of-activism-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"16 Days of Activism to stop violence against Women &#8211; 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]From 25th November to 7th December 2024, Soroptimist International observed 16 days of Activism.<\/p>\n<p>On 9th December, SI Poona members in collaboration with Gandhian Studies at the National Institute of Naturopathy (NIN) took the initiative to organize a lecture for the ladies who work as househelp and stay near NIN on Tadiwala road.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;20px&#8221;][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;5098&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221;][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;5097&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221;][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;20px&#8221;][vc_column_text]Dr Naina Athayle offered to deliver a lecture in one of the classrooms at NIN. The topics selected were divided in 3 phases, viz. empowerment of women, legal, health and education among women. The time decided was 6 pm.<\/p>\n<p>The ladies were first taken around the campus of NIN, and specially to the Gandhi Bhavan. At around 6:40 Dr Naina began the lecture and put light on topics of the legal rights of the ladies, tackling day to day issues, and also gave them tips to address their issues in the court located at Shivajinagar Pune.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;20px&#8221;][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;5103&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221;][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;5099&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221;][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;20px&#8221;][vc_column_text]At around 7:15 pm, Dr Raghav a doctor at NIN, explained to the ladies how naturopathy takes into consideration the five elements in nature and how these elements like fire, air, water and earth affect our body and the health.<\/p>\n<p>The lecture concluded at 7:45 which concluded with tasty snack of Poha and Awla juice.
