{"id":4732,"date":"2021-04-20T14:08:36","date_gmt":"2021-04-20T13:08:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/richmond-and-dales\/?p=4732"},"modified":"2021-04-20T14:08:36","modified_gmt":"2021-04-20T13:08:36","slug":"annual-general-meeting-by-zoom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/richmond-and-dales\/2021\/04\/20\/annual-general-meeting-by-zoom\/","title":{"rendered":"Annual General Meeting by Zoom"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SI Richmond and Dales met for their formal Annual General Meeting by Zoom this month.\u00a0 After such a difficult year, it was good to be able to reflect on the things we have managed to achieve despite lockdowns, remote meetings and social distancing.\u00a0 Our outgoing Presidents Faye and Jane highlighted:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">Generous foodbank contributions for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.influencechurch.co.uk\/storehouse\/\">Storehouse\u00a0<\/a>foodbank, Richmond, including baby bundles<br \/>\nDonations for SI <a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/harare\/\">Harare<\/a>, forwarded by Western Union<br \/>\nCurtilage Awareness Raising in August and <a href=\"https:\/\/just-the-job.org.uk\">Just the Job<\/a> fundraising<br \/>\nSuccessful fundraising refreshment stall at the Open Garden at Mr. Yorke\u2019s Walled garden in aid of Just the Job<br \/>\nGuest speakers on Zoom, Steve Biggs from Just the Job, Andy Wilson from Y<a href=\"https:\/\/donate.yorkshirecancerresearch.org.uk\/donate\">orkshire Cancer Research<\/a>, and our own Babs Hunt<br \/>\nParticipation in 16 days of Activism, Orange the World \u2013 Action against Gender Based Violence on line and at our November Meeting where the screen had a distinct orange theme<br \/>\n270 Saplings ordered and received from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.woodlandtrust.org.uk\/\">Woodland Trust<\/a>, now planted at Just the Job for their new premises adjacent to the new Rufus Wood for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.richmond950.co.uk\/\">Richmond 950<\/a> . The SIGBI Centenary Tree Planting Map shows an entry for SI Richmond and Dales<br \/>\nSocial Christmas Zoom and Club Quiz<\/p>\n<p>Several Long Service Awards given out during the year, and a special conversation took place with Shirley Thubron, who was awarded her 50 Year Certificate at the AGM &#8211; well done Shirely!<br \/>\nWe were able to link on line with our Friendship Clubs, Northallerton and Easter Ross, as well as participating in other online events with SI Darlington, SI Scarborough, Yorkshire RCMs and of course the annual virtual Conference.\u00a0\u00a0We also recalled the sad loss of long-standing member Hilary Ibbotson, who died suddenly earlier this year.\u00a0 She is much missed.<\/p>\n<p>Faye and Jane thanked the membership for their support through their year, and are pleased to be able to say that our membership has stayed in contact, active and together, despite the difficulties faced.<\/p>\n<p>Members thanked the retiring Presidents and all officers of the club for their efforts, and welcomed new holders of the posts of Secretary and Treasurer.\u00a0 The incoming President, Sharon Hanson-Cooper spoke to the membership as she takes over the mantle.\u00a0 Her programme for 2021-2 will be circulated shortly.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SI Richmond and Dales met for their formal Annual General Meeting by Zoom this month.\u00a0&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":128,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[3],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-4732","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-club-news"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.4 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Annual General Meeting by Zoom | News | Blog | Events | SI Richmond and Dales<\/title>\n<meta name=\"description\" content=\"SI Richmond and Dales : Blog &amp; News : Annual General Meeting by Zoom : Keep up to date with the latest news, articles and events from the Soroptimists of SI Richmond and Dales .
