A lovely sunny garden was the perfect setting for sorting and packing

In 2018 Salisbury Soroptimists were thrilled to send 470 lightly used bras to ‘Smalls for All ‘ and they were received with grateful thanks by this national charity based in Scotland. They were then shipped out by the charity to a variety of areas in Africa where, as the charity has found, bras give women dignity and self-worth.

A fun activity with a serious social purpose

Imagine members’ delight when this year in a repeat of the initiative, they collected an amazing 1120 bras!  They were received from public collection points at Five Rivers Leisure Centre, via local choirs, from friends and family, from village community centres and other places of gathering in and around Salisbury. Soroptimist Organiser Penny Joyce said: “Ladies you are so thoughtful …. we are most grateful for your generosity and your care for others less fortunate than ourselves. Thank you to all who took part in this initiative.”

Penny will deliver the bras to Smalls for All later this summer.

What will 2020 hold?
