Campaign.\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The original Salisbury Soroptimist Club had been a driving force in the establishment of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salisburywomensrefuge.co.uk\/\">Salisbury Women\u2019s Refuge<\/a> in 1983-4, and the project is very dear to Mary\u2019s heart. She served as a Trustee of the Refuge for 30 years and has recently been appointed Honorary President. She supports many other local community projects including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wessexcommunityaction.org.uk\/\">Wessex Community Action<\/a>, The Lovelane Friendship Club Day Centre, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.christianaid.org.uk\/\">Christian Aid<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/theartssociety.org\/\">the Arts Society<\/a> and Churches Together. She was awarded the MBE in 2010 in recognition of her work in support of Salisbury Women\u2019s Refuge, and her years of service to the local community.<\/p>\n<p>The centenary of the organisation seemed a fitting opportunity to recognise and celebrate the professional and personal commitments made by these outstanding members through the years.
