Thirty\u00a0members of Scotland North travelled to the annual Federation Conference in the\u00a0historic\u00a0spa town of\u00a0Harrogate.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Over 1400 delegates packed the conference hall to\u00a0hear an array of excellent speakers.<\/p>\n

We were inspired by the entrepreneurial work and achievements of Sahar Hashemi OBE<\/strong> as she told of how she took the\u00a0necessary \u2018big leap\u2019 to establish her \u2018Coffee Republic\u2019 coffee shop chain.<\/p>\n

Professor Susan Vinnicombe CBE<\/strong> informed us of her research interests in gender diversity on corporate boards, women\u2019s leadership styles and the issues involved in women developing their managerial skills.<\/p>\n

Dame Jenni<\/strong> Murray<\/strong>\u00a0entertained us with interesting tales from her forty years of broadcasting.\u00a0As the regular presenter of\u00a0 Radio 4\u2032s, \u2018Woman\u2019s Hour\u2019 she had some very amusing stories to tell.<\/p>\n

Throughout the conference we\u00a0learned of Programme Action\u00a0Projects from across the Federation and\u00a0met with Soroptimist friends. We all\u00a0enjoyed a most rewarding weekend.<\/p>\n
