Over forty delegates attended the September Regional Meeting\u00a0held at\u00a0Aberdeen Cricket Club.<\/p>\n

The first half of the morning was taken up by the AGM\u00a0and Regional Council meeting.<\/p>\n

The second half was a very productive session: delegates\u00a0divided into two smaller groups:\u00a01.\u00a0Programme\u00a0Action\u00a0 2. Membership issues.<\/p>\n

The Programme Action group was facilitated by PA Chair Billie. PAO’s from the SN\u00a0clubs outlined their work plans for the year and shared\u00a0\u00a0their\u00a0PA experiences .<\/p>\n

The Membership Session was facilitated by Region Membership Officer, Jean. Similarly clubs shared their plans and experiences – good and bad.<\/p>\n

The speakers organised by\u00a0SI Aberdeen were excellent. Sherriff Alison Stirling\u00a0presented\u00a0a pilot scheme that was about to get underway in the Aberdeen area . These would be special courts that would deal with low grade prolific offenders; the courts\u00a0would offer community sentencing and rehabilitation rather than custodial sentencing. It was hoped that this would have\u00a0a more positive effect on the woman and her family.<\/p>\n

Lesley Simpson and Karaina Fyfe spoke with enthusiasm and compassion about their work with offenders at\u00a0a Centre for Offenders in the city.<\/p>\n

The afternoon ended with a\u00a0question and answer session which was much appreciated by the delegates.<\/p>\n
