In her November Newsletter circulated today, President Tina said that she had been pleased to attend the “Created Forum” webinar earlier in the day. She expressed her approval of being able to attend so many more meetings on-line from her own home, than would have been possible face to face.
The event was arranged to honour the UN Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women 25 11 2020. Funds raised will go to Refuge, Women’s Aid, and Child in Need in India, thus supporting women and young girls in UK and across the globe.
Tara Newley Arkle, English writer, broadcaster and producer organised this event. Tara had worked with SI Weston – Super-Mare, whose members have a project entitled “Soroptimists Against Abuse”.

5 11 2020 Club Editors’ Zoom meeting today at 2.00 pm!
President Tina attended the meeting with Club Editors, arranged by the SI SS R Communications Team, to discuss experiences following the launch of the new SIGBI website in April 2020.
Resolving Problems:
Further similar meetings are planned for the New Year in order to assess progress and resolve ongoing problems.

Jenifer welcomed members and guests to this Zoom meeting from 2.00 pm. There were 31 participants.
President Tina, one of the three speakers, brought greetings from Region. She complimented the Club members on the amount of work that they manage to do.
The Provost of Renfrewshire, Lorraine, and SIGBI President Johanna also brought greetings.
They too spoke appreciatively of the contribution to their community by Club members.
9 11 2020 SI SS R President Tina was welcomed to the meeting of SI Hamilton this evening. Gwen Moir hosted the Zoom meeting.
Speaker:
Nicola Downie from Rape Crisis, Lanarkshire gave an account of her work on prevention, largely in schools. She receives positive feedback from teachers and pupils alike.
The Covid -19 pandemic had impacted on her work, resulting in a temporary change of emphasis to welfare of clients and staff.

SI Hamilton member Margaret McFarlane gave the Vote of Thanks.
7 11 2020 First SI SS R Council Meeting of her Second Year in Office for President Tina.
President Tina welcomed members to the Zoom meeting. 46 members, including Associates, members from Scotland North and a new member, attended.
Theme:
The theme for the meeting was Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, addressing SDG 16.
16 Days of Activism 25 11 2020-10 12 2020:
Plans were made for the 16 Days of Activism 2020. Region PA Chair Brenda Kay drew attention to resources which would be available to run a successful campaign.
SIGBI Virtual Conference, Belfast:

31 10 2020 Start of Second Year in Office for President Tina!
President Tina began her second year in office today at the Change of Insignia Ceremony, SIGBI 86th Federation Conference, Belfast.
This, the 86th, was SIGBI’s first ever virtual Federation Conference due to Covid -19 pandemic.
12 09 2020 President Tina completed 10 mile Virtual Kilt Walk today!
President Tina and three other Dunfermline members, Ann, Estelle and Helen, completed 10 mile Kilt Walk.
Route taken:
They walked from Vane Farm at Loch Leven to the Scots Larder and back in aid of the ‘Empowering Girls in Nepal’ project.
