Donation to Refuweegee!<\/h5>\n

First photo<\/strong> shows SI Glasgow City Joint PA Officers, Caroline and Liz, donating items to Refuweegee, which provides welcome and emergency support packs to forcibly displaced people arriving in Glasgow, 6 10 2025.\u00a0 (Glaswegians are known locally as Weegies!)<\/p>\n

Second photo<\/strong> shows SI Glasgow City Joint President Margaret, and Club member Gwen handing over pyjamas to Tomorrow’s Women Glasgow, (TWG), Team Lead Claire & Stacey from Martha’s Mummies.\u00a0 This donation was supported by SI Paisley.<\/p>\n

TWG is a multi-agency stop shop for women coming out of the Criminal Justice System.\u00a0 Over the last 3 months SI Glasgow City members have provided mindfulness colouring books, items for emergency food packs, and pyjamas.<\/p>\n

Blankets made from knitted squares!<\/h5>\n

Third photo<\/strong> shows blanket made from 30 knitted squares, one of three blankets, total 90 knitted squares.\u00a0 the blankets will be donated to needy families, by SI Dunfermline.<\/p>\n

The 90 knitted squares completes a 90 for 90 challenge celebrating the 90th Anniversary of SI SN\/S Regions, June, 2026.<\/p>\n

Cervical Screening Advice!<\/h5>\n

First, Second, Third, & Fourth,<\/strong>\u00a0photos<\/strong> show Cervical Cancer advice, as displayed on SI Hamilton Facebook page, summer, 2025.<\/p>\n

Low uptake group found within Lanarkshire:<\/h5>\n

While discussing this at SI Hamilton Business Meeting on 23 10 2025, member Morag mentioned that a low uptake of cervical screening had been found in the large diverse South Asian population within Lanarkshire, for cultural reasons. (Local newspaper article June 2025).<\/p>\n

Action taken!<\/h5>\n

By June 2025, NHS Lanarkshire had made films, podcasts to reach out to this group.\u00a0 These are available in Arabic, & Urdu, as well as English.\u00a0 \u00a0To view the films and advice click here; <\/strong><\/a>for additional advice click here. <\/strong><\/a>Lanarkshire Central Mosque has been helpful in arranging to show the films.<\/p>\n
