[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The purpose of Mums In Need (MIN) is to support mothers who are or have been subjected to domestic emotional abuse and violence. Mums In Need provides practical guidance and emotional support to mums who have left abusive partners by empowering them with skills and confidence to move forward with their lives.<\/p>\n

Over the past few years, Mums In Need has supported over 200 women who have suffered from emotional\/psychological abuse (also known as coercive control). Through running their support services, the need for national policy changes became strikingly apparent. Coercive control is now recognised as a crime and yet when victims leave the abusive relationship, they are often left unsupported. MIN carried out interviews with staff and the women who have used the support services. From this research, they have developed a set of policy recommendations which, if implemented, would drastically improve the support available to coercive control victims.<\/p>\n

\nrumental in organising a successful Bun Sale at King Edward’s Lower School. \u00a3117.80 was raised for Mums in Need.

\nA rewarding experience, not only raising money for MINS by selling donated items – thanks to all the donors (especially Tesco) for their generosity but being able to raise the profile of both MINS and Soroptimists. Useful contacts were made along with several productive chats.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”16px”][vc_column_text]\"\"<\/a>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_empty_space height=”17px”][vc_row][vc_column el_class=”Box6″][vc_column_text]23\/04\/24 Meet the Presidents – Buffet Lunch<\/strong><\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”4px”][vc_column_text]Si Sheffield and Si Hallamshire joined forces to greet Sigbi President Ruth, Si Yorkshire President Susie and Programme Director Lindsey.
\nSi Hallamshire displayed items that they make for Baby Basics supplemented with a display board of their projects. Si Sheffield President Sue introduced Laura (CEO) and Heather from MINS, who defined the charity’s aims and motivation.
\nChris described Winn Gardens’ needs and the support given to it’s food bank.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”15px”][vc_column_text]\"\"<\/a>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_empty_space height=”17px”][vc_row][vc_column el_class=”Box3″][vc_column_text]06\/12\/23 KES girls’ Bun Sale.<\/strong><\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”4px”][vc_column_text]07\/12\/23 Remaining items were donated to Winn Gardens Food Bank.<\/strong><\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”15px”][vc_column_text]Unsold cakes, etc from the coffee morning were added to the ‘Bun Sale’ goodies .
