She is\u00a0very sprightly at 90 years old and has been a Soroptimist for over 50 years. She had a very distinguished career in the Police Service and was awarded\u00a0the Queen\u2019s Police Medal for distinguished Police Service. She has worked tirelessly on issues affecting women and children including domestic violence, human trafficking, and child protection, in both her working life in the Service\u00a0and Soroptimist life.<a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/slough-windsor-and-maidenhead\/files\/2020\/09\/PhyllisBook.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4587\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/slough-windsor-and-maidenhead\/files\/2020\/09\/PhyllisBook.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"320\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/slough-windsor-and-maidenhead\/files\/2020\/09\/PhyllisBook.jpg 200w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/slough-windsor-and-maidenhead\/files\/2020\/09\/PhyllisBook-188x300.jpg 188w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A book has been written covering her thirty years of service and shows social changes and changes in women\u2019s role in law enforcement since 1950. The book is called \u201cA Beat From The Heart To The Heart Of Power\u201d. The proceeds from the sale of this book will be given to our local women\u2019s refuge organisation DASH \u2013 Domestic Abuse Stops Here.
