Soroptimist International - Solent East

Soroptimist International of Solent East is part of a worldwide organisation of women, which is linked to the United Nations.

Welcome to SI Solent East

Welcome to SI Solent East, the Soroptimist club covering the Meon Valley, A3 corridor and the Solent shores, to our neighbours in Winchester and Surrey Hills.  We are an active club, with 18 members from a variety of backgrounds, carrying out a range of activities in a balanced programme to mix the fun and serious aspects of being a Soroptimist.  We engage our creative talents where possible and collect various items for onward donation or recycling.  We also hold social events such as a barbecue at a member’s home, and days out such as a trip to the Shard in London.

We currently hold a meeting once a month (usually the first Thursday) at Lysses House Hotel in Fareham.  We are also looking to re-introduce a second monthly meeting, likely on the third Thursday.

We have ongoing work for Programme Action, such as holding an annual tea party for the local groups of Re-Engage (previously Contact the Elderly).  Our main project now is helping with survivors of domestic abuse, called Are You Safe at Home?  This will form our entry in the regional PA competition in July 2023, but will extend beyond that timeline.

There’s more information about the range of projects we support on the Projects page.
