August"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As a club we don\u2019t meet in August, but there is still plenty going on.\u00a0 One member of the club hosts a barbecue at her home, which this year was enjoyed by 24 guests.\u00a0 They raised a total of \u00a3410 for our charities.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/solent-east\/files\/2024\/08\/20240803_130539.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Then we play hostess to 2 local groups from Re-Engage, formerly Contact the Elderly, at the Wheelhouse in Hill Head.\u00a0 A team of 8 (Alison, Rosemary B and Tracy in aprons, and Margaret, Carolyne, Pam, Pauline and Christine) worked hard to lay up tables with a delicious tea and serve the assembled company of about 20, including drivers.\u00a0 The day was gloriously hot, which unfortunately meant the coastal car parks were full to overflowing, but everyone got there in the end.\u00a0 There was even enough for a going-home-plate, as a \u201cdoggy-bag\u201d, and a chance to sit outside in the sunshine afterwards.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/solent-east\/files\/2024\/08\/2024-Tea-left-hand-side.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\"
