As a club, we have chosen to support Children on the Edge as our charity for the coming year.\u00a0 We recently sent them the money we raised from the club BBQ earlier in the year, supplemented by money from other events.\u00a0 This was timed to coincide with The Big Give 2024, and our donation was therefore doubled up.<\/p>\n

We have now received an email thank you from Eloise Armstrong, Fundraising Manager at Children on the Edge.\u00a0 She expressed how grateful they are for our support, and how delighted they were that our gift of \u00a31,000 could be doubled – and turned into \u00a32,000 to Children on the Edge. This can help provide a safe space for 16 children to learn and thrive for a whole year in 2025.<\/p>\n

She included a short video and message from their CEO Rachel Bentley, marking the impact of our donation and others.\u00a0 They have not only reached but exceeded their target for the Big Give, raising an astonishing \u00a364,928 for the Dalit children they support in India.\u00a0 She asks that we take 90 seconds to watch Lal Mohan\u2019s story<\/a> (below); it is an inspiring reflection of the growing \u2018open schooling\u2019 programme, which is ensuring access to mainstream education for hundreds of Dalit children.<\/p>\n
