On going<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reconstructing Head Teacher Nanda\u2019s Home<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<strong>in Habarana :<\/strong>with Electricity and Pipe borne water. 2019<\/p>\n<p><strong>Street\u00a0 Children\u2019s Project Wijerama 1989 \u00a0\u2013 to Pre School Panadura \u00a0<\/strong>for Children living on the beach front.<strong>, and the construction of \u00a0the pre school in\u00a0 Kalmunai &amp; several other Pre schools \u00a0&amp; the Livelyhoods of women\u00a0 along Sri Lanka\u2019s coastline\u00a0 destroyed by<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>the Tsunami.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1988 Drug Rehabilitation Programme<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1988 \u2013 89 Home for destitute women and children &amp; Litaracy Programmes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1993 &#8211;\u00a0 Release of\u00a0Prisoners \u00a0by paying their fines<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1993 \u2013<\/strong>ongoing<strong>: Projects at the Schools for the Deaf &amp; Blind Ratmalana :<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Weaving &amp; Handicrafts.\u00a0 Gifting of Braille Slates &amp; writers, sewing machines, fans, cupboards &amp; other furniture\u00a0 required by the Hostel.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Disaster Relief <\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Given\u00a0 to victims of\u00a0Natural Disasters and other calamities when disaster strikes.\u00a0 Also to the Armed Forces in the battle front and those injured.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Special Treats \u2013 To patients of the Mental Hospital, \u00a0Hospice &amp; Elder\u2019s Homes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Assisting a Medical Student till she graduated.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ongoing<strong>&#8211; Providing\u00a0 a girl with special \u00a0needs with\u00a0her Educational &amp; personal needs.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4><strong>Advocacy : \u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>Recent \u00a0<\/strong>Programmes on Gender Based Violence, Achieving\u00a0 Gender Equality, Women\u2019s Issues on Environment ,Land, Local Economy, Political participation, at the workplace \u00a0&amp; the SDG.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Seminars<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>We had 3 International Seminars attended by the sitting Presidents \u00a0of SIGBI.<\/p>\n<p><strong>July 1984 \u2013 Challenge of Change through Awareness, Advocacy &amp; Action.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Ms. Margaret Hutchins.<\/p>\n<p><strong>May 1989 \u2013 Asian Regional Seminar \u201cMother &amp; We are enrolling new members but the younger ones do not seem to have the time to spare for hands on projects.
