[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]\"\"<\/a>It is my honour and privilege to serve, once again, as your Regional President. I knew I hadn\u2019t finished the first time. The world has changed in the 7 intervening years, arguably there is an even greater need for Soroptimism – we must continue to do whatever we can to \u2018make a difference\u2019.<\/p>\n

Soroptimists are beginning to forge and develop symbiotic partnerships with other organisations and charities. As a Region, we must ensure this \u2018mutual benefit\u2019 raises our profile and helps us to recruit new members who hear about what we have achieved! If our partners are \u2018smarter\u2019 with publicity or social media, then we must learn from them as we raise awareness or funds for their cause.<\/p>\n

My theme for the year is to encourage us all to keep asking the questions,\u00a0Why?, When? and Where? Can Soroptimists be of service?<\/p>\n

My chosen charities are the Diane Oxberry Trust<\/a> and Act4Africa<\/a>. Both were founded in our region, both are presenting at our Regional Conference in May, and both are familiar to many of you I\u2019m sure. (I should declare that I recently took on the role of Chair of the Trustees for Act4Africa)<\/p>\n

Looking forward to our Regional Conference<\/a> on Saturday May 16th<\/sup>, prepare to be inspired by the amazing line-up of speakers.\u00a0We\u2019ve added a Friendship Supper on the Friday evening and secured very attractive rates from the Novotel Manchester West, including overnight accommodation.<\/p>\n

Prospective Soroptimists and friends are welcome!<\/p>\n

My heartfelt thanks for your pledges of support and kind wishes. It\u2019s good to be back! having the opportunity to meet friends old and new. I look forward to getting to know more about the amazing Soroptimists of South Lancashire. We will make an awesome team!<\/p>\n
