Have you ever tried the ancient art of \u2018sabrage\u2019? Fifteen Soroptimists from SI Southport<\/a>, and friends, tried this out on a recent club trip to Reims, in France.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

‘Sabrage’ means decapitating a bottle of champagne with a sabre. The group \u2018sabraged\u2019 about 25 bottles of champagne. In true Soroptimist style not a lot was wasted, everyone making best use of the residual champagne to partner a splendid meal. <\/span><\/p>\n

The four-day tour encompassed three champagne houses, as well as the main sites in the town. <\/span><\/p>\n

Club member Beata Kowalska, who organised the whole event, said, \u201cOur occasional club trips abroad are always good fun, and this one was no exception. We\u2019re also very proud of our new skill. It\u2019s not something we\u2019ll be doing on a regular basis at our club meetings, though!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
