[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]South Lancashire\u2019s Soroptimists made a \u2018grand gesture\u2019 to mark International Women\u2019s Day (IWD). To illustrate the maxim \u201cAn equal world is an enabled world\u201d members struck the equals pose.<\/p>\n

Sriya Kulupana, the Region\u2019s Programme Action Officer said, \u201cOn 8th<\/sup> March we celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women and, this year, the acceleration of gender equality.<\/p>\n

\u201cHowever, the IWD campaign is not a one-day-a-year phenomenon. It runs all year long.<\/p>\n

\u201cSoroptimists worldwide form a global volunteer movement. Working together they transform the lives of women and girls \u2013 every day of the year.\u201d<\/p>\n
