Just like Alice, Soroptimists went ‘down the rabbit hole’ for a ‘wonderful’ experience.<\/h4>\n

The 2021 federation conference<\/a> was held in Llandudno by Soroptimist International, Great Britain and Ireland (SIGBI). However, being streamed online this year, rather than taking place in the town, it could be viewed all over the world.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>SI South Lancashire’s club in Wigan<\/a> was selected as one of only six to showcase their successes as part of the membership session on Day 1. SI Wigan’s billboard ‘An Equal World is an Enabled World’ featured two members making the ‘equals’ sign. The poster was on display at a roundabout in the town for 12 months. This high visibility was instrumental in getting the club new members and in raising awareness of Soroptimism.<\/p>\n

The club’s conference presentation announced ‘SI Wigan is shopped!’. The club’s secret? S<\/strong>ocial Media, U<\/strong>niqueness, C<\/strong>elebrations, C<\/strong>redibility, E<\/strong>volving, S<\/strong>implicity, S<\/strong>ee and be seen = SUCCESS. Their five Ps to increase membership? P<\/strong>assion, P<\/strong>rinciples, P<\/strong>erseverance, P<\/strong>estering and P<\/strong>lanning for post-pandemic time.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>On Day 2, the virtual change of insignia took place. It marked the close of SI South Lancashire’s presidential year for Josie Carter, and the start of Dorcas Akeju’s term of office. Many thanks to Josie for working so hard for the region over such a difficult twelve months. Welcome to Dorcas – here’s hoping that we do ‘celebrate our achievements and value one another’ as you wish.<\/p>\n
