Over the years members have knitted thousands to be given to newborn and premature babies at Royal Bolton Hospital at Christmastime.<a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/south-lancashire\/files\/2024\/06\/SI-Ramsbottom-Dolly-04.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-6207\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/south-lancashire\/files\/2024\/06\/SI-Ramsbottom-Dolly-04-194x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"194\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/south-lancashire\/files\/2024\/06\/SI-Ramsbottom-Dolly-04-194x300.jpg 194w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/south-lancashire\/files\/2024\/06\/SI-Ramsbottom-Dolly-04.jpg 662w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 194px) 100vw, 194px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>On the 25<sup>th<\/sup> of each month, Dolly wears her orange hat and scarf at the Soroptimists\u2019 Orange Caf\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Orange the World is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unwomen.org\/en\/what-we-do\/ending-violence-against-women\/unite\/orange-the-world\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UN Women initiative<\/a>. It raises awareness and encourages action to end violence against women and girls. As a bright and optimistic colour, orange represents a future free from such violence.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/south-lancashire\/files\/2024\/06\/SI-Ramsbottom-Dolly-07.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-6217\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/south-lancashire\/files\/2024\/06\/SI-Ramsbottom-Dolly-07-300x288.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"192\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/south-lancashire\/files\/2024\/06\/SI-Ramsbottom-Dolly-07-300x288.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/south-lancashire\/files\/2024\/06\/SI-Ramsbottom-Dolly-07.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a>Dolly\u2019s placard has the important and powerful message \u2018NOT ALL VICTIMS CAN SPEAK\u2019.<\/p>\n<p data-wp-editing=\"1\">At Christmas Dolly appeared at the town\u2019s Christmas tree festival with her own doll named Angel.<\/p>\n<p data-wp-editing=\"1\">Positioned alongside the Nativity, Dolly represented the fact that not all babies are born equal. She was definitely a talking point, prompting audible gasps and comments such as \u201cOh no! You forget about the little ones.\u201d<a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/south-lancashire\/files\/2024\/06\/SI-Ramsbottom-Dolly-08.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-6209\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/south-lancashire\/files\/2024\/06\/SI-Ramsbottom-Dolly-08-152x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"199\" height=\"392\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/south-lancashire\/files\/2024\/06\/SI-Ramsbottom-Dolly-08-152x300.jpg 152w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/south-lancashire\/files\/2024\/06\/SI-Ramsbottom-Dolly-08.jpg 520w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 199px) 100vw, 199px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Dolly\u2019s story developed at New Year. Scared by the bangs of the fireworks she was crying &#8211; but Mummy didn\u2019t hear as she was lying on the floor and not moving.
