60th Anniversary Celebrations

The 60th anniversary celebrations took place over three very busy and
enjoyable days.


Friday Evening – Friendship Evening on a 50s theme in
Chilworth Village Hall

Saturday – Formal Anniversary Lunch in Chilworth Manor
Hotel for 99 members and guests

Sunday – Hosted activities for the guests, including Art
Gallery, Sea City Museum and city walks



The evening had a 50s theme with
specialities from the decade, some items of memorobilia, a number of
photographs provided by our members as well as some of their recollections –
both thought provoking and amusing.

We were very pleased to welcome three of our
friendship clubs to our celebrations on the Friday evening.

Our 60th annual lunch took place at the Chilworth Manor Hotel. We were joined by the Mayor of Southampton, Councillor Derek Burke, members from three of our Friendship Clubs: Fredericia in Denmark, Stockholm & Vaxholm, Sweden and Newcastle & District. A number of the local clubs also….
