{"id":1064,"date":"2014-03-31T14:12:35","date_gmt":"2014-03-31T14:12:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/southern-england\/?p=1064"},"modified":"2014-04-02T09:51:46","modified_gmt":"2014-04-02T09:51:46","slug":"si-poole-lets-get-purple-teardrop-campaign-posters-and-stickers-into-every-public-wc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/southern-england\/2014\/03\/31\/si-poole-lets-get-purple-teardrop-campaign-posters-and-stickers-into-every-public-wc\/","title":{"rendered":"SI Poole: Let\u2019s get Purple Teardrop Campaign posters and stickers into every public WC!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Poole Soroptimists and the Purple Teardrop Campaign chose International Women\u2019s Day to launch their latest initiative to raise awareness of human trafficking in Poole.\u00a0 With the full support of the Borough of Poole and maintenance contractors Churchill Contract Services, anti-trafficking posters are being placed in all the borough\u2019s public toilets \u2013 providing information on the signs of trafficking, and telephone numbers to ring to report suspicions.\u00a0 Churchill\u2019s representative says \u201cChurchill is proud to partner with our client, Borough of Poole, in an initiative to support the Purple Teardrop Campaign\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/southern-england\/files\/2014\/03\/PurpleTeardrop-cubicle-posters_A6-for-web.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1066\" alt=\"PurpleTeardrop cubicle posters_A6 for web\" src=\"\/southern-england\/files\/2014\/03\/PurpleTeardrop-cubicle-posters_A6-for-web.jpg\" width=\"455\" height=\"640\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/southern-england\/files\/2014\/03\/PurpleTeardrop-cubicle-posters_A6-for-web.jpg 455w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/southern-england\/files\/2014\/03\/PurpleTeardrop-cubicle-posters_A6-for-web-213x300.jpg 213w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 455px) 100vw, 455px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for the Purple Teardrop Campaign and one of the instigators of the Posters into Toilets campaign says \u201cIt was Soroptimist Clubs in the north of England who first came up with the idea of displaying information in public toilets to both raise awareness of the crime and provide the Crimestoppers number for people to report any suspicious activity.\u00a0 We were therefore delighted when we got strong support from Poole Council for doing this locally.\u201d Councillor Xena Dion, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for a Prosperous and Sustainable Poole, Borough of Poole, says \u201cThe council fully supports the Purple Teardrop Campaign and we will take every opportunity to raise awareness of the issue of human trafficking.
