{"id":5699,"date":"2023-06-26T15:35:04","date_gmt":"2023-06-26T15:35:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/southern-england\/?p=5699"},"modified":"2023-06-26T15:39:50","modified_gmt":"2023-06-26T15:39:50","slug":"specialist-domestic-abuse-courts-sdac-how-special-are-they","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/southern-england\/2023\/06\/26\/specialist-domestic-abuse-courts-sdac-how-special-are-they\/","title":{"rendered":"Specialist Domestic Abuse Courts (SDAC) \u2013 How Special Are They?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Starting in 2017, the aim of this project is to provide an\u00a0independent review\u00a0across England of how Specialist Domestic Abuse Courts should be improved\u00a0for victims of abuse, the majority of whom are women.<\/p>\n<p>The project has been carried out by Soroptimists across England and involved c4,000 hours of volunteer time in observations and<a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/southern-england\/files\/2023\/06\/Report.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-5700 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/southern-england\/files\/2023\/06\/Report.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"178\" height=\"251\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/southern-england\/files\/2023\/06\/Report.jpg 330w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/southern-england\/files\/2023\/06\/Report-212x300.jpg 212w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 178px) 100vw, 178px\" \/><\/a> in excess of 1,000 questionnaires were submitted in relation to observations made at over 30 courts. The final report (of four) is now available and the collective reports together come very close to being a comprehensive report on the way in which the Specialist Domestic Abuse Courts are working on a national basis.<\/p>\n<p>Soroptimists stand up as advocates for all women, especially for those who have no voice.
