We work through service projects, fundraising and advocacy to advance human rights and the status of women &#8211; at local, national and international level. Friendship and fun are part of our ethos.<\/p>\n<p>Our club was chartered in 1932. Currently we have just under thirty members from Southport, Tarleton, Banks, Formby and the surrounding areas.<\/p>\n<p>We hold two regular meetings each month (except August).<br \/>\nOn the first Monday of each month we have a speaker meeting when we welcome speakers on a diverse range of topics.<br \/>\nOn the third Monday of each month, we have a club meeting, where we discuss the activities of the different committees and teams in the club, report on our own projects and plan future events and initiatives.\u00a0 We also hear about projects in our region (<a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/south-lancashire\/\">Soroptimist International South Lancashire<\/a>) and in our federation (<a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/\">Soroptimist International Great Britain and Ireland (SIGBI)<\/a>).<br \/>\nWe are fortunate to have our own club room at Baverstock House in Park Road, Southport and this is the venue for all our meetings.<\/p>\n<p>Please browse through our website. This is what Soroptimists do best: highlighting the actions needed to build a safer world for women and girls.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This year, Soroptimist clubs around the world are focusing on preventing online violence and creating safer digital spaces for women and girls. The campaign highlights how online abuse happens and promotes practical tools to help users stay safe.<\/p>\n<p><a
