Mon 13 Apr –<\/strong> AGM – St Albans<\/strong> United Reformed Church Hall Greenwood – marking the start of the Club’s 70th year 7-9.30pm. <\/strong>Please note we will start earlier at 7pm to allow time for our guests, Region President Rita Beaumont, and SAHWR Refuge Manager Liz Perry to speak and time for socialising with drinks and nibbles.<\/p>\n

Mon 11 May – Club Meeting\u00a0 – “Citizen Science” and more! 7.30pm – 9.30pm at St Albans United Reformed Church Hall Greenwood<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thu 14 May St Albans Girls School YEAR 12 MOCK INTERVIEW DAY<\/strong> – let us know if you are free to be an interviewer for the morning.<\/p>\n

Sun 17 May – Charity Bookstall at the Sustainability Market Harpenden<\/strong>,\u00a0 https:\/\/sustainablestalbans.org\/sustainability-market\/<\/a>. We need volunteers to “man” the stall and second-hand novels and children\u2019s books to sell.<\/p>\n

Mon 8 Jun – Farhat Zia <\/span><\/b><\/strong>will talk to us about the work of her Charity\u00a0the Akifa Foundation<\/strong>\u00a0in her home town of Baffa in Pakistan which has been helping families recycle single use plastic and support education https:\/\/akifafoundation.com\/<\/a> –\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a07.30pm – 9.30pm at St Albans United Reformed Church Hall Greenwood<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mon 7 Dec – 5.30pm to 7pm Carols at St Albans City Station<\/strong> \u201cShake Rattle and Sing\u201d<\/strong> \u2013 Soroptimists and friends (2 and 4 legged!) will be singing carols and festive songs at St Albans City Station in aid of the local Women\u2019s Refuge sahwr.org.uk<\/a> marking the 16 Days of Activism to end violence against women in the run up to Human Rights Day on Dec 10.

The Soroptimist Club of St Albans and District holds Club Meetings on the 2nd Monday of most months either on Zoom or at St Albans United Reformed Church Hall Greenwood, <\/strong>Watford Road, Chiswell Green, AL2<\/strong>\u00a03HG – click here for more information <\/strong>https:\/\/sigbi.org\/st-albans\/where-we-meet.<\/a> Zoom meetings are usually 7.30pm to 9pm. In person meetings are usually 7.15pm for 7.30pm start, coffee break during the meeting and end at 9.30pm. Club Members also meet on most 4th Mondays – either at St Albans URC Greenwood, on Zoom or out and about at other venues. Coffee mornings are adhoc – usually 10.30am to 12.30pm and are held at different venues. In addition there are social and fundraising events.<\/h4>\n

Our Club holds a Planning\/Executive meeting at the beginning of the first week of most months – the schedule is on this website www,sigbi.org\/st-albans\/club-programme\/exec\/<\/a>. We are an open and transparent Club and Members’ are encouraged to attend and participate in these meetings.<\/p>\n
