http:\/\/restlessdevelopment.org\/<\/a> for three months starting in March 2015. During this time she will be living with a local family in Dar Es Salaam and will be involved in a community work project along with a counterpart from Tanzania. Restless Development is a youth led development agency helping tackle poverty through sustainable programs focusing on health and improving livelihoods.<\/p>\nStartling facts about Tanzania are that 66% of the population are under the age of 25 and almost 50% under 15 – 900,000 young people enter the job market every year and most lack education and skills – something programmes like this are aiming to help with.<\/p>\n
Emma came to the Club armed with cakes to aid her fundraising efforts – she has to raise \u00a3800 towards the cost of the trip. The Club donated \u00a325 and individual Members gave an additional \u00a351 on the night – so she was \u00a376 closer to her goal at the end of the evening. Emma sent everyone a big “thanks”<\/strong> in a text message a few days later.<\/p>\nGood luck and bon voyage to Emma – we look forward to hearing all about it when she gets back!<\/p>\n

Emma has\u00a0been chosen as a participant on International Citizen Service (ICS)\u00a0www.volunteerics.org<\/a> It\u2019s a programme that brings young people from different countries together to fight poverty. In many poorer countries young people make up the majority of the population. This programme is specifically designed to get young people from the UK and host countries together to tackle poverty and its causes.<\/p>\n
