On 23 Nov we enjoyed a fabulous Lush <\/strong>evening \u2013 we\u00a0<\/strong>L<\/strong>earnt, we now\u00a0<\/strong>U<\/strong>nderstand, we\u00a0<\/strong>S<\/strong>ampled and took\u00a0<\/strong>H<\/strong>ome!<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was part of<\/strong> SuStAinable StAlbans Week<\/strong> \u00a0www.sustainablestalbans.org<\/strong><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

\"107-LushSoroptimistWeb\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Charis and Alex came from Lush St Albans to\u00a0explain Lush sustainability policies, ethics and products \u2013 including sourcing, providing work for women in a safe environment, recycling and much more! About 40 people came along to the evening.\u00a0Lush products are vegetarian, fair\u00a0trade, with no animal testing and the\u00a0environmental goal is for zero waste. We learnt about the projects they fund all over the world from\u00a0their charity pot of \u201csLush Funds\u201d.<\/p>\n

The evening came to life because not only did we\u00a0learn about these lovely products but Charis and Alex gave hand and arm massages using Lush massage bars. We were also\u00a0able to buy some of the Lush\u00a0products.<\/p>\n

Pictured above are (l to r) Janet, Charis, Alex, Clare, Maria and Denise. Janet and Maria are the evening\u2019s Soroptimist organisers from the Club\u2019s Environment Sustainability and Economic Empowerment tea\"Lushflyer\"m. Charis and Alex were the excellent and exuberant presenters (and masseuses) from Lush. Clare is from Transition St Albans \u2013 the organisers of St Albans Sustainability Week. Denise is the Club\u2019s President who was delighted to welcome so many guests along to such an enjoyable and interesting evening.<\/p>\n

If anyone collects the bright coloured plastic bottle container tops for recycling they can take them to Lush stores who will recycle them (the one in St Abans is in The Maltings Shopping Centre).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
